    Aluminium Cover Design
Aluminium Sash-cover is designed to protect the wood under the horizontal sash, the most vulnerable part of the window.
Profile also provides a Thermal separator for better energy efficiency.
    General Description
The CORA Economic system is based on the classic basic design for wood-aluminium systems.
CORA uses construction with specialy engineered Aluminium Sash-coverings which protect the wood under the horizontal sash that gets a lot of wear and tear as the lower part of the sash is especially vulnerable to weather cycles. The cover design is neat and simple.
All standard window designs and types of openings can be implemented in various styles and widths. All kinds of slanted windows and round arches can also be provided.
Together with the fashionable, milled glass bead of the casements, this design is an especially economical and efficient wood-aluminium window construction option.
Mullions and transoms, available in various widths, permit even complicated window divisions.
Element sizes up to 3.5 x 2.5 m are available.

    Structure
The glass is taken up completely in the wooden groove. The edge of the insulation-glass pane is thus well insulated against heat loss. The replacement of glass plates is carried out from the inside by loosening the glass bead.
The aluminium covers are generously rear-ventilated. The groove drainage is normally accomplished invisibly and without bothersome drainage caps.
The aluminum cover is the weather-protective element, and also an architectural element which can be color-designed at will.
Corner connections use joints with double tenons ensuring frame stability. Wood provides an outstanding insulation, and gives the house a pleasantly comfortable character.

    Performance

    Thermal Performance
CORA achieves very good insulation values of 1.5 W/m²K at the frame Uf as per DIN EN ISO 10077-2, and is thus very suitable for use in low-energy houses.

CORA has the certification of Load Group C, DIN 18055, Air-Tightness Level 4 as per DIN EN 12207, and Driving-Rain Tightness 9a as per DIN EN 12208.

    Uw values depending on:
     • the respective glazing (Ug values)
     • the type of wood (softwood or hardwood)
     • the glass separator (standard aluminum or Thermix system)

Assumption: Window size 1230 mm x 1480 mm (test-window dimensions), single tilt&turn sash.
