General Description
The MIRA Therm wood-aluminium system
is based on the classic basic design for
wood-aluminium systems.
MIRA Therm is the solution for houses built
using low-energy construction methods.
An insulating aluminium shell: a simple
and a highly effective solution for energy
-saving construction. Aluminium provides
protection and PUR polyurethane rigid foam
ensures insulation.
MIRA-Therm offers all the advantages of
modular system and meets today's strict
energy-saving regulations.
Together with the fashionable, milled glass
bead of the casements, this design is an
especially economical and efficient woodaluminium
window construction option.
Mullions and transoms, available in various
widths, permit even complicated window
divisions.
The frame connections are carried out with
stable, punched corner connections:
Element sizes up to 3.5 x 2.5 m are available.
Structure
The glass is taken up protected in the
wooden groove. The edge of the insulationglass
plate is thus well insulated against
heat loss. The glass is placed into the casement
from the outside, covered with the
aluminum shell, and sealed.
The aluminum shell is the weather-protective
element, and also an architectural element
which can be color-designed at will.
The wooden frame provides stability and
outstanding insulation, and gives the house
a pleasantly comfortable character.
The aluminium frames are generously rear
ventilated, and are fastened to the wood
tension-free with stable twist turn holders:
That lets the wood breathe, and the aluminium
frame expand due to temperature
fluctuations without hindrance.
Circumferential gaskets at the casements
and rod frames provide reliable insulation
and noise protection. If necessary, they
can also be sealed with system gaskets
between the aluminium frame and the casements.
Thermal Performance
MIRA Therm achieves very good insulation values of 0.88 W/m²K
at the frame Uf as per DIN EN ISO 10077-2,
and is thus very suitable for use in low-energy houses.
MIRA Therm has the certification of:
Load Group C as per DIN 18055,
Air-Tightness Level 4 as per DIN EN 12207,
Driving-Rain Tightness 9A as per DIN EN 12208.
Uw values depending on:
• the respective glazing (Ug values)
• the type of wood (softwood or hardwood)
• the glass separator (standard aluminum or Thermix system)
Assumption: Window size 1230 mm x 1480 mm (test-window dimensions), single tilt&turn sash.
